Model Overview
The Honda BF130 in-line four cylinder outboards are equipped with state of the art multi-port programmed fuel injection for instant starts, excellent acceleration, smooth idling and much improved fuel economy. The BF130 is also the largest displacement four-stroke outboard available in its class at 2.2 litres. Available in counter-rotation models for dual installations.

Large Displacement Engine
Based on the tried and proven Honda Accord 2.2 litre engine, the BF130 is 500cc larger than the closest four stroke competitor.
Low Idle Speed
Even at the largest displacement in its class it also features the lowest idle speed, 650 rpm
Programmed Fuel Injection
Will adjust according fuel mixture to climatic conditions and elevation for optimum performance.
Top Mounted Electronics
Electronics are mounted on the top of the powerhead to stay cool, dry and easy to service.
Forced Air Ventilation
Unique forced air ventilation system maintains a constant temperature of electrical components for more stable output.
Non-Linear Mounting System
Honda's patented non-linear mounting system provides smoother operation at all engine speeds by counteracting a broader range of vibration frequencies.
Balanced Engine
The BF130 has twin counterrotating balancers which cancel out internal engine vibrations giving smooth operation throughout the entire rpm range.
Over-Rev Protection
A standard electronic rev-limiter protects the engine from severe damage due to over-revving.
Easy Maintenance Valve System
Easy 'screw type' valve clearance adjuster system requires no shims and greatly reduces regular maintenance costs.
Front Mounted Oil Filter
The oil filter and oil filler neck are located on the very front of the motor for easier oil changes.
Over Heat/Low Oil Pressure Warning Systems
Standard over heat and low oil warning systems offer peace of mind and protect your investment.
Standard Fresh Water Flushing Port
Flushes the engine with fresh water after use in salt water ( garden hose attachment included).
High Output Charging
The BF130 dleivers 20 Amps of charging at idle, 30 amps at 1000 rpm with a maximum of 40 amps available at cruising speeds to ensure that batteries remain charged while operating electronics.
Bottom Mount Flywheel
The heavy flywheel & starter motor normally mounted on the top of an outboard engine have been mounted lower on the BF130 - between the powerhead and the lower unit. This greatly reduced the centre of gravity, steering effort,vibration and allows the starter bendix drive to be mounted into a sealed chamber away from the elements.
20" and 25" Shaft Lengths
Available 20" and 25" shaft length models allow for a wider range of boat applications.

Sacrificial Anodes
Internal and external sacrificial anodes protect metal components from corrosion.
Built in Pitot Tube Pick-up
There is a built-in pitot tube pick-up in the gear case to hook-up to your speedomenter. This eliminates the need to drill holes in your boat for speedometer installation.
Standard Gauges/Control Box
Tachometer, trim gauges and side mount control box are included with power trim models.
